This is the perfect example of someone who doesn't think the laws of nature apply to them. He couldn't believe that someone would cheat on him. He couldn't "get over himself". And the fact of the matter is that almost everyone thinks this way at one time or another. If you don't believe that it can happen to you, if you think that you are that one special person in the universe where the laws of nature don't apply to you, you're going to have a miserable time of it.
